Volunteering
For
several years now it has been possible to accommodate volunteers
at St Teresa’s Home in Oberá. Volunteering offers
a chance to witness the work of Fr Liam Hayes and his staff and
to use your particular talents in the service of the poor.
Although no particular skill is expected of prospective volunteers,
those with medical, nursing or related therapeutic skills can
make a much-needed contribution.
“The experience of Irish standards of nursing care have
contributed greatly to the welfare of the residents here,”
says Fr Hayes. “We hope this can continue. But the most
important thing is that our volunteers be loving and caring. A
sense of humour helps too.”
You can come for whatever period of time you are free –
from a few weeks to three months or more.
An ability to speak Spanish is very helpful, but not essential.
For information about volunteering, contact Fr Liam Hayes SVD.
