Help
fund our work
The Homes of St Teresa and Our Lady of Lujan depend entirely on
its supporters in Ireland and Britain. The Irish Government recently
funded an extension to the Our Lady of Lujan Home, and is contributing
towards the cost of building a rehabilitation centre at St Teresa’s
Home. We are grateful for this support but only capital projects
are assisted. The money for day-to-day running costs must come
from other sources.
Each year Fr Hayes travels to Ireland and England to raise funds
for the homes. Irish money goes a long way in Argentina, and it
is possible to run both homes at their present capacity for as
little as €140,000 per annum.
There is also a need to secure the future financially. There is
no government aid coming from the Argentinian side and the annual
fundraising efforts of one person can not be relied on forever.
Fr Hayes hopes to establish a trust for Oberá – this
would fund the ongoing work of the homes, facilitate the growth
of their services as much as possible and assist other local initiatives
to help the poor of Misiones.
“Where do I come in?”
As a potential donor you have the satisfaction of knowing that
each euro or pound you contribute gets excellent value for money
in Argentina. There are no administration costs. Every cent you
contribute goes directly to help St Teresa’s Home and the
Home of Our Lady of Lujan.
